[edit] Part 3: Description of Venue
History: The history of this venue does not differ from that established in the City of Lost Angels venue, which is the original Promethean venue run in Los Angeles.
Theme: Los Angeles is a city where everything - dreams, entertainment and even what it means to be human - are created. In such a city, where anything is possible and lives are fabricated and crushed daily, can a Promethean find even one example of what it is like to have a soul? Is Hollywood magic enough to power the Great Work? In the city of shattered dreams, will the Created find a way to pick up the pieces of their stolen lives?
Mood: The mood is cloyingly personal. Problems arise for bodies without souls, but will it drive the group together, or to madness? External problems highlight the inescapable struggle with Torment and the difficulties of the Great Work, but it is the internal processes that hold the true danger and the possibility for salvation. Urgently the Created ask themselves if the actions they take tonight are a step on the Pilgrimage, or a step further away from the light.
Character creation: No limits on character creation other than those in the Camarilla Addendum are currently in use in the Venue. Character background links to real-world and in-game figures, places and phenomena are highly encouraged, as are newly Created characters, although these things are not required.
[edit] Part 4: Storytelling Mechanics
Proxy rules: The following excerpt from the Camarilla Addendum, Section 4.0, applies to proxies run in this venue:
To engage in a proxy, a player must get local Low Approval, as well as informal approval from the supervising Storyteller of the scene into which she proxies. Mid Storytellers may choose to require notifications of any proxies into their areas of responsibility. The player must provide the Storyteller of the scene into which she proxies with her full character sheet, and her character’s motivations and potential actions for whatever situations may develop during the proxy. Storytellers must keep players informed of proxy progress, providing status updates on at least a weekly basis, and should portray proxied PCs to the best of their ability should unforeseen situations arise. For time-critical proxy approvals a Low Storyteller email that specifically gives approval for the proxy to commence is sufficient instead of DB usage.
In addition, notification of inbound and outbound proxies must be sent to blucyfer@gmail.com at least 48 hours prior to the in-game time of the proxy.
Travel risks: Los Angeles hosts tourists and locals alike of all appearances, and plenty of them. For the most part, travel into or out of Los Angeles is unrestricted. Travel within Los Angeles is mostly unhampered, except in certain areas of high Pandoran concentration. There is always the threat of Pandorans wherever there is Azoth, however, and a wise Promethean is always on their guard. Also, because of the nature of the Wasteland Effect, it is necessary to contact the VST about how and where the character will be moving. The beginnings of a Wasteland will be noticed by some of the many citizens of LA.
Visiting characters guidelines: This game centers many of its plots on the Created condition. Many (but certainly not all) of the plots will come from character background, so it is advised that either a full or summarized background be sent before visiting. The main plot elements will not be supernatural antagonists, but occurances that get to the heart of what it means to be Created. This venue is able to explore personal, alchemical change within any character from any location. Combat is not anticipated to play a major role in this venue, although danger will be everpresent. This venue will explore the Pilgrimage and the changes in a Promethean required to finish the Magnum Opus, as well as the distinct possibility of failure. Mortals will play a large role, as will the connections Prometheans forge with each other. Experience award guidelines: A VST can award a maximum of 5 experience points per game attended, at their discretion. A VST is not obligated to award the maximum, and may take such things as overall in-character participation, roleplaying, and submission of downtime reports into account.
