Los Angeles has been at the center of a strange and dark plot by mysterious mages who seem to have Abyssal purposes in mind. With key help from some visitors, the LA Consilium was able to put an end to an attempt at a strange ritual involving at least 4, possibly 5, individuals... but it was apparent that the mages performing that ritual could have been mearly puppets on strings, the puppet masters still hidden, their purpose still unknown within the shadows. For a time, now, there have been no indications of further activity, and no new clues to use in tracing this strange cabal... but recently this has begun to change.

Those who previously had visions or premonitions about the ritual or shadow cabal or of dark forces at work in LA are now feeling uneasy and seeing similar portents about events in Los Angeles. These dreams or visions are coming with more frequency in the past weeks, calling you to come to LA to untangle the enigma and put a stop to the plot against the city.

All Los Angeles area Mages, plus some of those in surrounding communities, receive a simple typewritten note in the mail this week. There is no return address and the cancellation mark on the stamp is blurred beyond recognition. For those characters who can sense such things, there is no discernable fate connections to the letter or envelope. The text reads as follows:

Between the worlds
Into the dark
no dragon's nest the center marks,
From the deep
Out of the void
a fate no mortal can avoid,
It waits for you
And we see all
a future where the Tower falls,
All that remains
Of our plan contrived
is the Drawing of the Five.
