In addition to the individual cities which are separate from the city of Los Angeles, there are several subdivisions within Los Angeles which warrant consideration on there own. Some of them, like Hollywood, have made failed bids to break away from the City as a whole. Others, are merely distinctive enough on their own that they warrant mention.
