[edit] Foundations (1778-1909)
From the time that the city of Los Angeles was founded in 1781 until the 1900s, the supernatural communities of Los Angeles city and county were establishing themselves. There were some small growing pains, but by the 1900s, all of the major supernatural power groups had managed to put their marks on the map, and many of the persistent political factions had made their presence known. The Ordo Dracul had set up USC as a powerbase, the Invictus had claimed their traditional powerbase of Pasadena, and the Lancea Sanctum was well-entrenched in the main city of Los Angeles. Among the Mages, the Silver Ladder had fought to establish itself as a significant power, and they had ceded the coastal communities to the Free Council.
[edit] Growing pains (1910-1949)
Between the years 1900 and 1940, Los Angeles grew from a moderate city of 100,000 residents to a metropolis of 1.2 million residents. Inevitably, such rapid growth triggered some conflict between the various supernatural groups. The Carthians began to take a strong interest in Los Angeles politics, and with their interest, came conflict with the Lancea Sanctum and Invictus courts. This conflict allowed the Invictus to seize the city of Los Angeles, and in return, the Carthians were granted Santa Monica. Meanwhile, the Awakened are forced into some tummult as Jaad, their Heirarch leaves the public light entirely, forcing them to establish a new Heirarch.
[edit] War Abroad and at Home (1940-1949)
During the era of the World War 2, the Kindred politics again heated up, resulting in a strange alliance of the Lancea Sanctum, Circle of the Crone, and Ordo Dracul once again siezing Los Angeles, relegating the Invictus back to Pasadena. It was also during this period that the streets of Hollywood became haunted by some unknown force which caused the dissapearance of Kindred in the area. Prince LeBeau ordered Hollywood closed to Kindred. It would not be reopened until 2006.
[edit] Cold War Intrigue (1950-1989)
With the Kindred Domain divided once again, politics between the court of Los Angeles and the court of Pasadena became tense. In this atmosphere of Paranoia, a blood cult arose and began to plague the Kindred of the Los Angeles basin. Meanwhile, 1965 saw the beginning of a major war between two factions of Mages. Holding still to the precepts of secrecy, the Mages of Los Angeles found themselves locked in a "cold war" with their rivals, trying to use the mortals of the basin as weapons against each other.
